FY22 Q2 Results of top 4 IT giants

The results of all 4 major IT companies (as per the market share) for Q2 FY2022 are out now. This post will provide a comparison of the results of TCS, Infosys, HCL and Wipro.


    1. Tata Consultancy Services

    TCS sales growth for Q2

    The Quarterly Results of Tata Consultancy Services are out and the company reported the consolidated revenue as Rs. 46,867 crore, which is a 16.8 per cent year-on-year growth (below expectations) and 3.2 per cent QOQ increase.

    TCS profit growth for Q2

    As per TCS quarterly results, the consolidated net profit stood as Rs. 9,624 crore, which is a 14.1 per cent year-on-year growth ( higher than analysts’ expectations) and 6.8 per cent quarter on quarter increase.

    Operating margin of TCS 

    The operating margin of TCS increased slightly to 25.6 per cent from 25.5.

    Dividend for Q2 FY 2022

    TCS delared an interim dividend of Rs 7 per share for the September quarter.


    2. Infosys

    Infosys Q2 results date

    Infosys sales growth for Q2

    Infosys reported the consolidated revenue as Rs 29,602 crore which is a 20.3 per cent year-on-year growth and 6.1 per cent QoQ increase (above expectations).

    Infosys profit growth for Q2

    Infosys reported its consolidated net profit as Rs. 5,421 crore, which is a 12 per cent year-on-year growth and 4.3 per cent quarter on quarter increase (higher than analysts’ expectations).

    Operating margin of Infosys 

    The operating margin of Infosys dropped to 23.6 per cent because of employee wage hikes. 

    Infosys Dividend

    Infosys declared an interim dividend of Rs 15 per share for the quarter ending in September.


    How is the result of Infosys?

    Infosys has very well beaten the analsyts' estimates in terms of both profits and revenues. Also, Infosys management has increased the revenue growth guidance to 16.5%-17.5%. 

    Which stock is better TCS or Infosys?

    Based on the September quarter results, Infosys has successfully met the FY 2022 quarter targets, while TCS could not beat the revenues estimates. This led to a sharp fall in TCS stock price, while Infosys stock rallied further. In the long run, both are quality stocks and can be made a part of the portfolio.

    HCL Tech Q2 results date

    HCL Tech sales growth

    HCL Tech reported the consolidated revenue as Rs 20,655 crore which is a 11.1 per cent year-on-year growth and 2.9 per cent QOQ increase (below expectations).

    HCL Tech profit growth

    HCL Tech's consolidated net profit stood at Rs. 3,259 crores, which is a 3.9 per cent year-on-year growth and 1.7% per cent quarter on quarter increase (higher than expectations). 

    Operating margin of HCL Tech 

    The operating margin of HCL Tech dropped to 23.6 per cent because of employee wage hikes. 

    Dividend

    HCL declared an interim dividend of Rs 10 per share for the shareholders.


    Is Hcl share a good buy?

    HCL tech saw profit booking after september quarter results. As per the management commentary and HCL Annual reports, the company has bagged 14 large deals worth $2.3 billion. Thus, it woukd be worth buying HCL Tech for the long term.


    4. Wipro  

    Wipro Q2 results date

    Wipro sales growth

    Wipro reported the consolidated revenue as Rs 19,667.4 crores which is a 30.3 per cent year-on-year growth and 7.7 per cent QoQ increase (beats expectations). 

    Wipro profit growth

    Wipro reported consolidated net profit as Rs. 2,930.7 crore, which is a 18.9 per cent year-on-year growth and 9.6% per cent quarter on quarter fall due to higher tax payments (beats than analysts’ expectations.) 

    Operating margin of Wipro

    The operating margin of Wipro stood at 17.8 per cent. 

    Dividend

    Wipro did not declare any dividend for this quarter.

    Which is better hcl or wipro?

    As per Q2 results, Wipro beats both profit and revenue expectations whereas poor quarterly results of HCL technologies led to a dip in the share price. In the long run, both the stocks can be a good buy and one bad quarter should not be the parameter to judge a stock's future. Instead, this could be the right time of accumulation (Buy on Dips).
